Indian Trail West Subdivision – Indian Trail West Homes
The Indian Trail West subdivision is located on the west side of Aurora on the southwest corner of Indian Trail and Edgelawn. A somewhat larger subdivision, homes in Indian Trail West were mostly built between the mid-1960’s and early 1970’s althoug some homes were built in the 1980 and even up into the 1990’s. A majority of the home styles in Indian Trail West include ranch homes, split-level homes (bi-levels, tri-levels and quad-levels) as well as georgian colonial 2-story homes. The subdivision has entrances off of both Indian Trail to the north and Edgelawn on the east. The subdivision backs to a drainage pond to the west. Indian Trail West is located near two other similar subdivisions – Greenfield Village to the southwest and Orchard Green to the south. In many cases, the home styles are very similar between these three subdivisions making it feel like one big subdivision. Generally, Indian Trail West doesn’t extend south past Hall School Park. Some of the typical street names in Indian Trail West are Almond, Laurel, Coral, Emerald and Cypress among others.
One of the local features of Indian Trail West is the Hall School Park. Actually on the sign it is called Hall Park School but that doesn’t make sense and it is listed on maps as “Hall School Park” and “Hall Park”. Frank H. Hall Elementary School is located in the same area so perhaps the sign means Hall Park and School. Anyways, the homes in the area feed into Frank Hall Elementary and the park contains some ball fields and play structures.
