Temps are Cold but Homes are Hot

Yesterday, the Fox Valley was hit by the second large snowstorm of the year – dropping 4-5 inches on some parts of the area. Most residents spent last night and this morning digging out or bundled up at home. Season lows have also been a fixture in the area for perhaps the past week – temps dropping into the negative for quite a few of the previous nights. Despite the cool-off, real estate is starting to get red hot. We are seeing a large influx of homes going on the market the past couple weeks and buyers are starting to get out, despite the weather. The figures from January are in and we started to see an increase in both figures towards the end of the month. This actually signals an early start to the spring real estate season – a large increase wasn’t expected until February at least. If you are thinking of selling your home in 2007, start making plans to put it on the market.
