Orchard Valley Subdivision – Orchard Valley Homes
Orchard Valley Subdivision is a golf course subdivision located on the west side of Orchard Road between Illinois and Galena Boulevard. Surrounded by the beautiful Orchard Valley Golf Course, the community of Orchard Valley includes large single family homes, often with pond views or views of the golf course. Arranged in several circles with various cul-de-sacs, many of the homes in the Orchard Valley subdivision are semi-custom and offer brick fronts and lush landscaping.
Built in the mid-1990’s, the types of homes in Orchard Valley subdivision vary, but many are larger homes with a good deal of square footage – between 2,000 and 4,000 – and often include a basement – either finished or unfinished. Another common feature among homes in the Orchard Valley Subdivision is the use of mixed materials on the exterior. Although some homes use aluminum/vinyl siding, many feature either brick or cedar siding.
One of the biggest area features of Orchard Valley Subdivision is the surrounding Orchard Valley Golf Course. There is also a nice restaurant that is part of the golf club called the Orchard Valley Restaurant and offers relatively inexpensive American cuisine. Orchard Valley also includes several beautiful ponds as well as the small Canterbury Park and a playground.
Main avenues through Orchard Valley Subdivision include Canterbury Road, Deerfield Drive, Pinehurst Drive and Worthington Drive. Convenient nearby shopping venues include several options on Galena Boulevard just east of Orchard Road. These include a Jewel grocery store, a Wal-Mart, Blockbuster Video as well as several banks, fast food restaurants and small stores. You can also find two large home improvement stores just north of the subdivision on Orchard Road as well as a Woodmans grocery store even further north over I-88.
