Butterfield Subdivision – Butterfield Homes

The Butterfield Subdivision is located on the top north edge of Aurora just south of Butterfield Road between Kirk and Eola roads. The homes in the Butterfield Subdivision are detached single family homes in a variety of styles ranging from ranch-style homes under 1000 square feet to huge 2-story colonial homes over 2000 square feet. Butterfield is also located close to the Cambridge Countryside community of townhomes and detached single family homes.

Homes in the Butterfield Subdivision were built mostly in the mid-to-late 1980’s and the area includes many long-term residents including some single-owner homes. Butterfield does not have an association, although the residents of the subdivision form a close-knit community with often two or even three generations of the same family all owning homes. One thing you will find if you are looking for a home in Butterfield is that many of the homes do not have lines installed for natural gas. Many of the homes feature electric furnaces, water heaters and ranges instead, plus, some of them have recently gotten a heater repair, you can be sure that the system will be working properly. The location of Butterfield Subdivision makes it ideal for commuters with easy access to Eola and Kirk roads plus an easy entrance and exit onto I-88. The subdivision is located directly across from the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) where some of the community residents work. Butterfield is also located close to the Chicago Premium Outlets mall located just south on Kirk (Farnsworth) – a popular destination for shoppers all over Northern Illinois and one of the largest outlet malls in the Chicagoland area with over 120 outlet stores.
